NEW MICHELIN STAR DESSERT CREATIONS BY RENE FRANK

If you always have room for dessert, you’ll be excited to hear that the two Michelin-starred chef, René Frank, is bringing new exclusive creations to Dubai’s FIVE Hotels and Resorts.

The innovative chef, who is behind one of the world’s first Michelin starred dessert restaurants, is the mastermind behind these outstanding creations. In 2020, he collaborated with Dubai’s lifestyle destinations, FIVE Palm Jumeirah and FIVE Jumeirah Village. Now, he’s back with more icing for your cake, and bringing brand new desserts to FIVE Hotels and Resorts’ award-winning venues.

The hot day to night venue, Soul Street, has something a little quirkier – caramelised BBQ popcorn, which is accompanied with flamed raspberry and passionfruit sorbet, and served on a little BBQ with dry ice. It’s a spectacle that is definitely one for the ‘gram.

For a theatrical treat, head on over to Maiden Shanghai for René Frank’s addition to the dessert menu – the mango noodles. You’ll be wowed as you watch the mango ice cream pressed into liquid nitrogen, all while using a noodle strainer. The result? An amazingly real-looking noodle nest, which is served at your table on top of a goji berry mousse with orange-ginger jam and sesame crumble. To top it off, it’s finished with a raspberry and goji berry compote – it’s like art on a plate.

Just when we thought René Frank’s original dessert couldn’t be topped, he has proven that sequels can be better. Don’t miss out on the coconut custard at Maiden, which is bigger and better than before, as it is a larger portion and totally vegetarian without compromising on taste.

At The Penthouse, the award-winning fluffy duck dessert has an extra tangy mango-passion mousse base. While at Soul Street, the churros is now available in a new fusion style, which includes a delicious raspberry sugar, fresh mango and almond dip.

Inside one of Dubai’s coolest coffee shops, Delisserie, you’ll spot the new vegan cake on display – the hazelnut-carrot sponge cake is adorned with coconut and mango glaze. It’s a fantastic accompaniment to that afternoon cuppa.
